Who we are
The Ewelme Exhibition Endowment has been enhancing the lives of young people for nearly 600 years through financial awards. We offer grants to pupils who are particularly gifted or face difficult challenges and support pupils’ aspirations and educational pursuits. We work in partnership with schools to contribute towards fees for those who have obvious talent, or who are in need of help.
How can we help?
There are a number of ways we support young people with their educational needs.
Grants
Individuals (not limited to under 18s) can apply for support to further their skillset. School leavers can put in an application for funds to buy vital equipment for training programmes or tools for their trade. Recently our governors have given grants to cover travel costs from villages to colleges and to apprentices needing tools to kick start a new career.
Schools
Schools can apply for grants to take disadvantaged pupils on outings to theatres, music events, residentials and a host of experiences to increase their cultural capital.
Bursaries
The Trust has helped so many dreams come true. An eleven year old boy approached us saying he longed to become a ballet dancer and a series of bursaries from us, which gave him financial support for his independent school education, enabled him to take his place at a performing arts school. He’s just graduated and joined the Royal Ballet company.
Trust rules
There are, of course, stipulations laid down in the Trust’s rules, which have to be met. Applicants must live in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, or in the vicinity of Ramridge, near Andover in Hampshire, be under 24 years old and may be asked to provide information on their household financial situation.
We would like to help you, but we can’t if:
- You don’t live in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or in the vicinity of Ramridge
- Have a household income of more than £75,000
- Our contribution leaves too large a shortfall
- You’re asking for accommodation or boarding fees
- You can’t get a supporting testimonial
- You don’t have an Independent school willing to partner with fees if you are applying for a bursary
- You need help with Higher Education tuition fees
- You are over 24 years old
- You are a business
